It starts to glow at some 60V AC rms, and will withstand some 350 V AC rms at full glance. The brightness is not that great, but it sure lights up in a dark environment. The current consumption is in order of 2-3 mA. The feeder has a current limiting resistor built in. The white rope glows very cold, I e a white - blu-ish color. To operate You need a driver or a high voltage AC-source of some 200 Hz- to 2 kHz.
