I tried them with 12v DC and working fine. Just getting warm after 1 min and so but I think they will last long. Anyone can tell if I need to mount it on heat sink?

These are great quality although they do tend to run a bit hot when using 12 volts. For my project, I reduced the input power to 9 volts and they still are nice and bright.
