I bought this speed controller for an ancient RC car that was originally equipped with a servo for speed control. The servo would switch large resistors in series with the motor, so the car basically had a fixed number of speeds, and the resistors would burn much of the energy delivered from the battery which was a NiMh. Now the car runs better than ever with a LiPo battery and this speed controller which does not even get warm to the touch. All the energy from the battery is consumed by the motor. The speed controller has a jumper for enabling / disabling reverse and another jumper for selecting battery type. I think this has to do with undervoltage detection. The original settings for my ESC were: reverse enabled and LiMh. Oh and the ESC powers my receiver and the steering servo (I accidentally fried the receiver BEC). I don't know about the waterproof bit, but I am certainly happy with the ESC so far.

great little esc i bought this for a boat project and it works really good and being waterproof out of the box is bonus and the price is great, i wont say its perfect cause nothing ever is , but it does work very well , i love the fact that i dont have to program anything on it at all other then i had to move the jumper for lipo battery access. which is so simple id for sure buy more of these as i need them at 13.00 bucks you cant go wrong..

buen esc probado con lipo a 2s y motor 540 con 3s lipo no creo que soporte. pero muy bueno si se usa en 2s

Was exactly as described. Easy to use low voltage setting. I used on my hg402 because that truck has no brakes only forward and reverse. I did modify plug to suite my needs.
