Works fine at standard 5v. It is also a fine module for output up to 12v (I personnaly changed R2 - the closest to IN- - to 8200ohm for that). It is also possible to control the booster using pin 4 of the FP6291 chip : just cut the small trace between pin 4 and 5 then wire pin 4 to your controller. Be aware that it does not on/off the output voltage : when the booster is off, the output voltage is the same as the input voltage, minus the drop from the diode. Bottom line : it is a very useable module that is well documented through the FP6291 datasheet.
