Very nice LEDs to make your own RGB strip/ring or matrix. These leds look and work like the Neopixels from Adafruit, only the microscope shows a difference. In a comparison with Neopixels from Adafruit I was not able to tell which ones are brighter. With a few leds I noticed bubbles or other imperfections in the transparent plastic but this does not result in a visible difference with the other leds. Very good value for price.

WS2812 Neopixel clone in every sense, these are very easy to use and compatible with most drivers(Poluled,Adafruit_Neopixel,FastLED, FastSPI libraries all work on Arduino with these). Incredible effects......5*8 Array Behind the Sun in image posted on this site.... Nano running the code 16 in a string in the infinity hole (also posted here)....... ESP8266 running the code......

The 'neopixels' worked fine. They come in packs of 10 stuck together, you can break them by hand with ease. They work with 3.3 and 5v just as long as the data and power are the same voltage. I use them with an arduino nano clone also from banggood and had no issues. If you use an Arduino or similar, the adafruit library for neopixels worked out of the box. They require soldering to get working, you only get copper pads on the back no pins etc. Soldering them was easy because of the solder mask on the back, they are also very resistant to heat (i had to fiddle with the soldering a long time because the wires I used were very short, nothing broke).

The contact pads are the smallest I've encountered so far but now that I've mastered the 2 step soldering method: a) put small blob of solder onto a pad, b) pick up wire/connector and add it to the blob by quickly reheating it - the process is straigtforward. But obviously time consuming, imagine having to solder 100 of these things! That's 600 pads, 1200 steps...........

I've used it in one of my project to make a RC car lighting and engine sound system based on an arduino nano and these LEDs. Works perfectly fine and no wire mess!!!
