I got this to experiment with controlling a higher current 18V DC motor I have. Note this only controls speed, not direction. I replaced the potentiometer with outputs from an arduino and that gives me the ability to control the speed via the Arduino sketch. Adding a set of relays I had on hand between the power inputs to the motor controller adds the ability to change the polarity & control direction as well.
