This is my 4th SDR device. It works about as well as the others. It consists of an RTL-SDR circuit and an upconverter, in a metal box to shield the electronics from interference. It came with a magnetic-mount antenna and a USB cable. Nice UV working device out of the box! BUT HF did not work until I open the case and soldered the missing vias between the interna RTL-DVB-T stick and the mainboard. Now after soldering both antenna ranges are working UV and HF. Nice product for a good price but little solderskills are needed!

This RTL-SDR has inside a USB dongle soldered to main PCB which contains also a low band filter for HF input. The dongle is based on RTL2832U and R820T2. There is no converter for HF band, the HF connector is rather connected to Q input of RTL2832U. Suggested software for Windows is old and without HF (0-30 MHz) support. I tested the receiver with software GPRX on Linux. It works well, both VHF/UHF and HF. However, HF configuration is rather tricky: set Device to "Other..." and Device string to "rtl=0,direct_samp=4". As it is my first RTL-SDR, I can't compare parameters with other products. The appearance looks very cheap: the AL case is overlaid with printed paper.

hello I confirm that the device works well in VHF but not in VHF. I am an engineer and also ham radio, I know how to use the device. It does not work in the HF range I tried the frequencies In my opinion it is not designed to receive the HF. I am a loyal customer of banggod and I am disappointed. What are you going to do?

Nice and clean. It is a PCB mounted on top of another PCB... Inside there is an IR receiver for a remote command. but you will have to do a hole in the aluminium case if you want to use it. You have to install a software like SDR# which you can find at airspy. The frequency range for the HF input is not written but should be <31MHz. With the antenna provided I can receive the FM stations powerful enough. Spare connectors or adapters would be appreciable

After shielding the copper foil inside the box, the device works like other usb dongles, in the UV range while the HF range has a rather poor sensitivity. removing the internal IR and LED diodes significantly reduced the level of interference generated inside the device.

Maybe not high end, but great for an intro to SDR. However, it seems the HF connection internally is missing as reported by others.
