My remote controller had wrong layout, block 1-# was up and arrows were down (by battery, far from IR diode). Key mapping was not changed, so script from https://arduino-info.wikispaces.com/IR-RemoteControl printed FORWARD when key 2 was pressed etc. I had to remove buttons plate, cut it in pieces and put it in normal layout - ugly solution. It also had no KEYES logo, maybe it was low quality clone. If using http://z3t0.github.io/Arduino-IRremote/ Arduino library, run IRemoteInfo example sketch and follow notes in System Monitor for *better precision when pressing buttons*. "#define TOLERANCE 40" significantly reduced wrong recognition of IR signal.
