I read the negative feedback so I was a little daunted. I have just received the shield and after setting a couple of jumpers and wiring to a Uno sent and received SMS no problem. THE REVIEWS ARE TOTALY WRONG. Works very good product. Peter

Although I have not tested all the functionalities, I got the shield to make a call, so I assume that the rest of the functions also work. So long story short, I am very happy with this shield. I found it a bit hard to start with though: After making sure the shield can connect to a network (led blinking with about 1 sec interval) I was not able to use the standard arduino libraries (GSM and GSMtiny) to send an sms/tekst or make a call. It was confusing how to use the jumpers etc. BUT, this item comes with a very usefull and elaborate manual.
