The idea is good, but there is one drawback. Plastic rubs against plastic and creates additional friction, which is very bad for drives (in my case wpl millitary track 1:16). Plastic drive can not stand, the motor is heated. Now, if we thought out and made a cat through plastic sleeves, or it would be better through bearings, it would be an ideal option.
