I looked everywhere for a outdoor auxiliary speaker and microphone for my new 8MP IP Dome security camera with audio in/out connections only but no Mic and Speaker. The items you find are one or the other, no waterproofing and not really very compatible. This is very typical of these cameras for reasons I don't care to share. Anyway all I had to get was a small 12vdc plug in the wall type AC adapter with a standard 5.5mm od x 2.1mm inside pin od barrel plug and a couple of RCA Phono Male Plug to AV Screw Terminal Speaker Wire adapters. Then all I needed was a power adapter extension cord with male barrel plug on one end and female on the other. I got a twenty footer for my application. I have a junction box 90 degree wall adapter for my camera. I ran my POE ethernet cable and my power wire to my Mic Speaker box from my computer room though the wall using 3/4 pvc with 3/4 npt fitting on the outside wall and sealed around the fitting to the house with silicone. I attached a 90 degree 3/4 NPT seal-proof conduit fitting and attached flex conduit to my terminal box. I screw the Speaker/Mic to the wall beneath and connected my speaker wires and power wires inside the junction box with my camera connections. I used vinyl tubing with barbed to NPT pipe fitting to junction box. This works great and sounds clear. They should be advertised more for people with outdoor cameras that need them. Made everything easy.
