Pluses and minuses for this XK entry. This is my first XK plane after a handful of Volantex and the HZ Carbon Cub S2. Maybe I need to stop watching so many sponsored fanboy videos. But the price is certainly right. I paid $94.99 (US warehouse). Of course, it dropped even further to $74.99 and now seems to be back up again. Play the price game and wait for it to drop. The Good: - Scale for an airplane like this is really amazing. It looks sweet static and in the air. I can't help but be offended by one detail: The pilot in this Red Tail Tuskeegee Airmen plane is white when the famed Tuskeegee airmen were Black men. Kind of rankles considering the service these men gave and struggled for. - Overall a nice flier, though she can be quite skitchy, wonky, whatever...in the safe beginner mode...like she's fighting invisible demons. - Did I mention inexpensive? - Oh, BTW...the transmitter is a nice step up from the Volantex models... - And the lights...they are bright...and colorful...and mostly I like them. There's a switch to turn off, on and blink...when you plug them in don't worry about the order...it doesn't matter. I can't imagine the put any real drain on the battery. The Bad: - Forget the instructions. Watch YouSchmoob videos. - Get rid of the foam bomb attachments. They really impede smoothness in the air and I think are part of that wonkiness in beginner mode. - I'm torn on the gear...so sweet for static...and taking off and landing is pretty cool...but really just a bunch of drag in flight. ONE HUGE...MASSIVE...UNMENTIONED DRAWBACK: There is absolutely no useful warning provided for battery telemetry. When the battery is done it's done. POOF. Deadstick....though the christmas lights still work...So, set a time for 5-6 minutes. At 5 min. get this this set up for landing. Don't mess with this. When it's done it is DONE. I'm hoping to find time to convert this for use with my $pektrum NX8 transmitter.
