Great quality globe. It looks better in person than the pictures. I only wish it had a bit more detail, like individual state in the USA.

Meh. It's a solar panel, true, but it's not a very good one. The power output is very low and it needs clear direct sunlight to produce anything usable. I'd pass on this one.

Q: It seems rather thin ( 30 mm ) for its height ( 105 mm ) and given that the power connection is in its back, so it cannot lay flat like a book, on the desktop, is there an available suggested support to keep it vertical while in use?

Larry I wondered about this too, then looked closely at it. Judging from the last picture that shows the dimensions, and the description, it looks like it is designed to be panel mounted, not stand alone. So mount it in a vertical panel and it will stay vertical :)
