Q: What is the different between v8.4d and v8.0? Coz i want to use gtx 750 ti

Preguntado por Mocha Mantul sobre 2020-04-29 10:31:43

derrickm2012 Since you want to use GTX 750Ti the difference here isn't of much importance. However, the v8.4d is, of course, an upgrade of v8.0 so the list of compatible graphics cards is widened. But based on the card you are set to use, there is no crucial difference that would affect the performance of the card. Hope this was helpful.

derrickm2012 Thiscard is a bit of an overkill, I haven't tested it but with reasoning, I'd say that the power won't be an issue since you are going to be using an external PSU and the recommended PSU that you need to use is 650W to 700W with 2 x 8pin power connectors as stated here www.nvidia.com(SLASH)en-us(SLASH)geforce(SLASH)graphics-cards(SLASH)rtx-2080-ti Now, when we talk of compatibility with the GDC eGPU Dock, it all depends on whether the card can work on a PCI-E x16 slot. If you check online the card can support the PCI-E x16 slot as stated here www.techpowerup.com(SLASH)review(SLASH)nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-pci-express-scaling I'd advice you'd rather test it out on your machine. Please note, all matters pertaining to power relies on the PSU you've selected which should be between 650W and 700W. derrickm2012 RadeonHD 7870 will work well using this [Mini PCI-E Version], of course, if your machine has the Mini PCI-E slot. Now, if you have an internal GPU apart from Intel's HD Graphics, then you'll need to go to Device Manager and disable the internal GPU and leave the one for Intel HD graphics still on. Please note that this is before you install the Mini PCI-E Version GDC eGPU cable.

derrickm2012 I honestly have to see a teardown of your laptop so as to know if it has either an NGFF or Mini PCI-E Wi-Fi LAN card. Please show us an image of your laptop after opening the access door underneath it. But if I would make an educational guess, since your laptop was manufactured before 2015 and in this link en.accessoires-asus.com(SLASH)r501jr-63444-56385.htm I notice that under "WiFi board" your laptop uses a Mini PCI-E slot for that, then based on this information I’d say your laptop is compatible but you'll still have to verify for yourself first.Moving forward, the manufacturers of the eGPU say it's not compatible with Nvidia GTX 10xx series but in some online videos www.youtube.com(SLASH)watch?v=PJabK8TfyOA, it's proven to work with even GTX 1060, so GTX 1070 should work as well but not GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 TI. In addition, GTX 980 TI goes head-to-head with GTX 1070 in terms of performance, though nothing below GTX 1080 can beat GTX 1080 (unless we're talking about SLI versions).DISCLAIMER: Modifications to your system or using your system in a way that the manufacturer did not intend will likely invalidate any warranty you have. Otherwise hope you'll have fun building your laptop into an intensive GPU rig for gaming.

Q: Does it supports gtx 710?

Preguntado por Aku Sarma sobre 2018-10-19 09:00:40

derrickm2012 Hi,great for getting in touch. I hope you meant GT 710. Yes, the eGPU can support GT 710 but also it can do so much more. I'd recommend going for the GTX 760 for starters; you won't be disappointed, it's proven and tested here www.youtube.com(SLASH)watch?v=aM3D3cZmqn0. Then, in future, you can expand your interests and try out other GPUs but not GTX 1050 or GTX 1050 TI. DISCLAIMER: Modifications to your system or using your system in a way that the manufacturer did not intend will likely invalidate any warranty you have. Otherwise hope you'll have fun building your laptop into an intensive GPU rig so that you can be able to enjoy running heavy GPU intensive applications and games.

derrickm2012 Hello, Mini PCI-E Version V8.0 EXP is compatible with your Samsung NP550 P5C laptop. As shown in this video www[dot]youtube[dot]com[slash]watch?v=QfWVDrUp3V0 at minute 00:06:08, your machine should have a Mini PCI type wifi card, which according to this video www[dot]youtube[dot]com[slash]watch?v=PJabK8TfyOA your laptop should be able to support graphic cards below Nvidia 1000 series. I'd recommend you try out with the Nvidia GTX 970.
