I seemed to get lucky this time, and this is the first time I won something on snap-up deals. If there's a few hundred or a few thousand people all trying for the one hot item which there are only 1 or 2 of, that's why it's nearly impossible to get. I suppose a fast internet connection with extremely low ping to the banggood server would help, along with clicking at the exact right moment.
