The 40A specification is highly overrated, the controller would melt at that current. At most 2.5mm^2 wires can be attached to it which is good for maybe 20A and the PCB seems to be also strong enough for 20A. There are 6 transistors which all have adequate cooling so no problem here either (maybe with some fan attached to cool them for longer periods of usage). The issue are the most likely the two 330uf/63V capacitors. These get very hot when the regulator is in use and the regulated device not running at full performance. I was testing peltier module (12V, 20A at full performance)... which was running fine at maximum current (unlimited)... but we don't need the controller for this, right. However at approximately 75% performance - 12V, 15A the capacitors got very hot (60+°C ) after 5 minutes of operation, probably would get even hotter if running longer. And there is a high toned pitch, probably coming from the capacitors. I don't think it is save to use this for such high current, and even if it didn't blow up, the capacitors would degrade quickly. I guess for current up to 10A this regulator is good to use, maybe more with some modifications (like replacing the capacitors for better low ESR ones) this would allow load of mor than 10A. Still, for the money it is not bad, good PCB design and soldering, just not very suitable for high load.

Llegamos en buen orden con algunos muy buenos trazadores fornidos en la parte posterior de la tabla. Trimpot tiene un clic muy agradable a la misma! Estoy deseando instalar en mi kayak!

Arrived in good order with some very nice beefy tracers on back of board. Trimpot has a very nice click to it! Looking forward to installing into my kayak!
