gogglesp Previous answer is suspect because x4 does NOT work with the gyro receiver (100% certain). I would love to know for sure if the x5 does work with the Gyro receiver but I suspect it does not or it would not be on sale so cheap

gogglesp Vx Kv = RPM. Max RPM is 50,000. So, 7.4 x 5480 = 40,000. 11.2 will exceed 50,000 at full power, so use at your own risk. Also, the same current draw at higher voltage puts way more power (V x A) through the ESC which is typically why they get fried. If you want to run 3S safely, go with 3600Kv (or approx 4000 if you can find one) and make sure your ESC is rated for 3S. Most of the cheap ESCs are a big question mark because they physically look the same so there is no easy way to know if the ESC is what the seller says it is. 2S is the safe way to go if you don't want to let the smoke loose.

gogglesp Yes. I'm not aware of any receiver that doesn't (or can't). The - have a common rail inside the receiver. You can also hook up a power pack of the appropriate voltage, it simply needs to connect to the positive negative pins of any of the channels. Servo power can also come from an external source, you only need to connect the signal pin to the receiver.
