A good flashlight. Good build quality, and looks good. Works well. Push button switch on head. One click=on, click hold for 0.5s=off, quick click to ramp up brightness. 4 brightness modes + Turbo, 2 quick clicks from off or on for Turbo. 3 quick clicks from on for strobe. 4 quick clicks from off to lock-out/unlock. With AA alkaline it always starts in low mode, or using 14500 battery it has mode memory. On the down side: At 37-38 gram (without battery) it's probably a bit heavier than need be, but at least it's solid. I don't like click and hold to turn off, but most flashlights suffer from this same design flaw. Overall I think this is a good product, and am very happy with it.

Q: Can you tell me what modes the lamp supports, and how the interface works? The explinations in the advert are incomprehensible gibberish.

Stucki5 Brieflypress the switch once to switch on the lamp with the last brightness. The order with each further click is dark, light and strobe. When switched on, click twice briefly and the lamp changes slowly from dark to light and back, just click again when the brightness is right. Holding the switch for a long time turns the lamp off. I hope I could help, this lamp is very easy to use. regards

lesbentley The "XHP50.2" part refers to the emitter (LED), I have no idea what "SST" stands for. I note that some of the FT03's mention a different beam distance, or different lumens. Some come with a battery, and some don't, and some are available in different body colours, and some may have a different colour temperature to the light. .

I am very pleased with the Astrolux E02. It has a pleasantly neutral white light. As near as I can tell, the max beam range is as stated 240m, and noticeably longer than my Imalent headlamp which claims 225m. The light always turns on in the lowest mode, but one click takes it to a more useful 250LM mode. Then there are two more brightness modes, 450LM and 900LM. The beam profile is more biased towards spot than flood, which makes it more suited to distance than close quarter illumination, though there is still a useful amount of spill for peripheral vision. Pro: *Long range neutral white beam, with adequate spill. *Easy, uncomplicated interface. Well thought out spacing of modes. *seems well made. Con: *The button switch can be hard to locate by feel in the dark. *Its too easy to turn on accidentally in my pocket, and requires the tail cap to be unscrewed a bit to prevent this happening. *Too many silly strobe modes, that are activated if the switch is held down. Conclusion: Highly recommended. Not perfect, but a really nice flashlight.

I take a 56cm hat size, and this Flashlight headband is too tight for comfort, even at its full extent. Over a cap or hood it would be even worse. Otherwise it seems sturdy and well made. You can't disassemble this product. Some headbands have a gap in the buckle that allows them to be disassembled, but not this one. For a child, or someone with a small head it's ok. For an average adult male, it's too small. I can get it on, but after 5 minutes I have a headache. I prefer the Imalent headband which has plenty of room, and can be disassembled.
