Q: it says it will work with windows7 however as it only has usb3 connectors windows7 wont recognise keyboard mouse etc. any recommended fix for this?

Merkur555 I bought this item with preinstalled Windows 10. Why don't you use Win10 instead of Win7? You wouldn't have such a problem.
