The one that comes with it is known to fail quickly. - The firmware on the microsd card is okay, but if you Google 351elec and replace the firmware with that, you'll find an even better system that also is better at handling PSP and N64 games (though still not perfectly due to hardware limitations).

Q: Can you attach an external HD to the USB ports to play videos (such as mkv)? Or can the microsd card be used for that? If so, what program is used to play the files (VLC possibly)? Or does this only do streaming services?

4 microSD cards have all worked just fine. Simply designed with sturdy plastic, something lacking on most generic readers. This one costs only slightly more than the cheaper models, but it's worth the slight increase over something that probably won't last anywhere near as long.

It's a get-what-you-pay-for machine. Being super cheap compared to regular sewing machines, it's uses are limited to very basic sewing, such as straight-across seam sewing for curtain bottoms or such. It also cannot handle thick material well such as jeans. If you are okay with the limitations, and you're not a regular sewer, you just need rare repair work, this is fine. If you plan to regularly sew, spend the money for a more expensive machine with more functionality.

Q: What type of micro SD card is allowed - and can the U3 type be used? or just U1 and what is the maximum capacity of the card? I would like to buy another, namely SAMSUNG micro SDXC 256GB EVO Plus + SD adapter (MB-MC256HA / EU) - will work?

Flamester Anyreputable brand name micro SD card should work fine, and it's recommended to replace the one that comes with it (a cheap generic one that is known to not be reliable) with one you'd trust, such as a Samsung one mentioned or other brand name. You don't really need a speedy card. I've used a 256GB card in mine. Official documentation says that's the maximum size it can handle.

Put in shoes just like regular laces. Tweak them a bit so they stretch enough but not too much (determined by how they feel on your feet after walking a bit in the shoes). Use them a few times with the plastic bits attached but without cutting the lace, tuck it in the sides. Only then when you're certain they feel okay where the plastic bits are at, cut the lace. That's for best results. They work fine if you set them up properly.
