I've only "played" with them, but they seem to be a good deal for the price. I'd buy them again.

There may be a 40 in these monoculars, but it's not the magnification, it's the front lens. The magnification? Not 40X, maybe 6-8X. Less than my known 10X binoculars. That said, they seem well built and can be a fun instrument. Great for supervised kids. Just don't expect the performance or specifications that are listed. Oh. And forget "night vision"!

These are much better than plastic, but not so great without a silicone mouth piece (extra). Not so good with acidic or alcoholic drinks. Not very safe for unsupervised youngsters.

Works well when the base is hot enough. Nice little demonstration of a Stirling engine. Looks good on the shelf too.
